Gotbackup Product FAQ

(About the backup service itself)

GotBackup is a secure online cloud backup service.
It automatically backs up your important files—photos, videos, documents, and more—from your computer or device to the cloud.

If your device is ever lost, stolen, damaged, hacked, or crashes, you can log in from any browser and restore your files.

GotBackup works on:

  • Windows PCs
  • Mac computers
  • Android Phones and Iphones

You can access your backed-up files from:

  • Any web browser
  • Supported mobile devices (to view/download)

That depends on the plan you choose.

In general, GotBackup offers:

  • Plans with large or effectively unlimited storage per device/account
  • Family / multi-user plans with a big pool of storage shared across several accounts
  • We offer 6TB of space for unlimited devices on 6 totally separate accounts. Keep all 6TB for yourself or give some to family members. That is up to you.

GotBackup runs in the background and automatically backs up your files on an ongoing basis.

  • After the first full backup, it only uploads changes and new files
  • You don't need to remember to plug in a drive or click "backup now"
  • It's designed to be "set it and forget it"
  • On mobile devices as long as you open the mobile app, things ae backed up automatically

GotBackup uses strong encryption (bank-level/military-grade) to protect your data

  • Your files are encrypted during transfer and while stored
  • Data is hosted in secure, professionally managed data centers

Your files are not publicly accessible and can only be viewed or restored when you log in to your secure account.

Your files are stored on servers in secure data centers operated by the company behind GotBackup. That company is GVO or Global Virtual Opportunities

  • Built for reliability, uptime, and redundancy
  • Protected with strict security and backup protocols

You get the safety of truly off-site backup, not just another device in your house.

Yes.
As long as you have internet access, you can:

  • Log in to your GotBackup account from any browser
  • Browse, preview, and download your files
  • Restore individual files or entire folders

You can explain it roughly like this (adjust to your actual offers):

  • Personal / Single-User - Backup for one main computer/user.
  • Family / Multi-User - Multiple separate accounts (for family or a small team), all under one plan. 6 Separate accounts for unlimited devices
  • Pro / Business / Enterprise - Larger storage, more accounts, plus access to the reseller opportunity and extra business tools.

GotBackup is designed to be light on resources:

  • It can throttle how much bandwidth it uses
  • Heavy uploads mainly happen during the first full backup
  • After that, it only backs up changes, which is usually very light

Most users do not notice it running

This is what GotBackup is built for.

If something happens to your computer:

  1. Get a new or repaired device.
  2. Install the GotBackup software.
  3. Log in to your account.
  4. Choose the files/folders you want to restore.

You can recover your data from the cloud and get back to normal much faster.

GotBackup keeps:

  • Previous versions of your files for a period of one year (most companies are 30 days)
  • Deleted files for a while as well, in case you remove something by accident. Deleted is 30 days

You can say on your page:
"GotBackup keeps previous versions and deleted files for an extended period so you can 'go back in time' if needed. For up to 1 year"

You get access to:

  • Helpdesk / ticket support
  • Phone support
  • Tutorials, webinars, and community resources (especially if you're also a reseller)

You are not left alone to 'figure it out' if you ever need help.

GotBackup is offered as a subscription (monthly or yearly, depending on the plan).

  • You can cancel future billing at any time
  • All plans come with a 30 day money-back guarantee for your initial period (check your specific offer page for details)

You are not left alone to 'figure it out' if you ever need help.

Good comparison for your users:

GotBackup vs. file-sync tools (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.):

  • GotBackup is designed as a continuous backup solution
  • It backs up large amounts of data and full folders
  • It's about long-term protection and easy restore, not just basic file sync

GotBackup vs. USB/external drives:

  • A USB can be lost, damaged, or fail
  • GotBackup is off-site, encrypted, and always available online
  • You're protected even if something happens to your hardware at home

Absolutely.

You can join GotBackup purely as a customer to protect your data.

The reseller/business side is 100% optional. You can add it later if you decide you'd like to earn from sharing it.
